June 8th–9th & June 15th–16th 6 Bells to 8 Bells in the Evenin’ (6PM–8PM) St. Luke’s United Methodist Church 700 New York Ave, Martinsburg, WV Prepare 16-32 measure of yer best sea shanty! (Song) *An accompanist track or karaoke track may be used. Comfortable clothing and a willingness to move are encouraged. This production is in collaboration with our Youth Summer Theatre Intensive. Rehearsals for adults will be Monday-Thursday 6-8PM starting June 22nd.

Finding Neverland —
Character Breakdown J.M. Barrie Male, 30s–40s A successful playwright with a vivid imagination and childlike wonder. Warm, charming, playful, and deeply compassionate. Barrie struggles between the expectations of society and the imaginative world he longs to create. Strong tenor voice and strong acting ability required. Sylvia Llewelyn Davies Female, 30s–40s A widowed mother of four boys. Intelligent, caring, graceful, and emotionally strong. Sylvia encourages imagination and adventure while quietly facing personal hardship. Requires strong vocals with warmth and emotional depth. Charles Frohman / Captain Hook Male, 40s–60s Barrie’s theatrical producer and friend. Larger-than-life personality with charisma and humor. Often doubles as Captain Hook in the fantasy sequences. Strong comedic timing and commanding stage presence needed. Mary Barrie Female, 30s–40s J.M. Barrie’s wife. Elegant, sophisticated, and frustrated by her husband’s growing emotional distance. Strong singer and actress with dramatic presence. Mrs. du Maurier Female, 50s–60s Sylvia’s mother. Formal, proper, and concerned with appearances and social status, though ultimately loving underneath her stern exterior. Strong character actress with alto vocals. The Llewelyn Davies Boys George Male, appears 12–14 The oldest brother. Responsible, mature, and protective, but still capable of wonder and adventure. Strong singer/mover. Jack Male, appears 10–12 Energetic, mischievous, and adventurous. Quick wit and playful spirit. Strong mover with good comedic instincts. Peter Male, appears 8–10 Thoughtful and emotionally guarded after the loss of his father. His journey toward imagination and belief is central to the story. Requires strong emotional acting and vocals. Michael Male, appears 6–8 The youngest and most uninhibited of the boys. Imaginative, funny, energetic, and fearless. Strong personality and stage presence important. Ensemble All ages and experience levels welcome. The ensemble plays: Actors Londoners Party guests Pirates Lost Boys Theatre company members Fantasy characters from Neverland Strong movers, dancers, singers, and character actors are highly encouraged to audition. Ensemble members help bring the magical world of Neverland to life through storytelling, movement, and imagination. |
